Updated UpdatedScholarships for Top Executive MBA Programs
Once considered a well-deserved perk from your company, the Executive MBA is usually self-financed by motivated executives ready to fast track their careers.
It’s a well-known fact that an EMBA requires a healthy financial investment. With this in mind, many top Executive MBA programs have stepped up to help and offer scholarships for executive MBA students. Even schools that have topped the EMBA rankings, such as The Kellogg School of Management/HKUST Business School joint executive MBA program, INSEAD and London Business School are sharing the wealth.
Here is a sample of scholarships for MBA students currently on offer at Kellogg/HKUST, London Business School, INSEAD and more of the top executive MBA programs.
Kellogg/HKUST executive MBA scholarships
Kellogg/HKUST is there to lend a helping hand to participants who need a financial boost. Among the scholarships they have on offer is the Award for Leaders in Emerging Markets which is awarded to applicants based in a country with an economy that has been classed as an emerging market. Successful candidates must show a history of high academic achievement combined with leadership skills in their professional life.
There is also the Award for Sustainability that is awarded to candidates who have a strong interest in promoting sustainability in the industry and community.
INSEAD scholarships for MBA students
INSEAD, another EMBA rankings topper, offers a number of scholarships for MBA students including scholarships for women, which offer up to 20 percent of total tuition fees for self-sponsored or partially sponsored women candidates who demonstrate significant achievements in their professional lives.
There is also the INSEAD GEMBA Scholarship for Entrepreneurship which finances up to 60 percent of the program’s tuition fees, available to self-funded individuals with a proven entrepreneurial record and commitment to entrepreneurship.
The top-ranking program also offers the INSEAD GEMBA Scholarship for Diversity to talented and dynamic individuals whose background, work experience and personal profiles will contribute to the GEMBA program’s learning experience. Participants need to be self-funded or partially sponsored to a maximum of 50 percent.
And finally, if students from atypical backgrounds want to attend the INSEAD GEMBA program, the business school offers the INSEAD GEMBA Scholarship for Non-traditional Backgrounds. INSEAD seeks motivated leaders working in the public service, NGOs, not-for-profit and educational institutions, journalists, medical practitioners and more.
London Business School scholarships for executive MBA students
London Business School is another of the top Executive MBA programs that has also seen the benefit of opening up scholarships for motivated candidates that fit certain requirements. Among the opportunities on offer is the £50,000 (US$64,796) Muna Al Gurg Scholarship, awarded to one female candidate on the MBA program or EMBA Dubai program from the Middle East.
The 30 percent Club Scholarship is offered to an Executive MBA London or Dubai female participant who has demonstrated leadership potential and commitment to supporting the on-going success of the Executive MBA program. The scholarship is up to 50 percent of tuition fees and will be deducted from the total tuition fee.
There is also the London Business School Women’s Scholarship, which covers up to 50 percent of the London Business School tuition fees for self-financed participants, as well as the Gallifrey Scholarship for Social Enterprise that offers one award of £20,000 (US$25,918) to a successful candidate who has a background in social enterprise. Award recipients are expected to contribute to the school’s future recruitment of other students from a similar background.
Not to be left out are IE Business School, Nanyang Business School, ESADE and ESCP, just to name a few other notable executive MBA programs which offer scholarships for MBA students. Each of these top Executive MBA programs offers scholarships that cover up to 50 percent of total tuition fees, most of which are multiple awards. Much of the aid is based on merit or need but more and more scholarships are being created for population segments and even career segments. It just takes a bit of digging online or sometimes even a simple phone call to the financial aid office to find out what is available.
